1971 Began elementary school in Lüchtringen (Höxter district)
1975 attended fifth grade at Wilhelmstraße Holzminden Gymnasium.
June 10th 1984 Graduted and recieved the Abitur

October 10th 1988 Aplication against the draft.
March- July 1989 Civil duty  service pos for the Protestant Student Union of West Germany and West Berlin in Stuttgart

WS 1985-86 Studied Physics (Diploma) at Philipps University, Marburg
November 11th , 1987 Diploma pre-exam in Physics
WS 1987-88 Studied Philosophy as a second major
December 4th, 1989 half term exam in Philosophy
January 1991 Joined the Nuclear Solid State Physics group
July 15th, 1992 Diploma thesis : “Electron Spin Resonance Measurements in gold and silver appointed Argon Matrices”
September 8th, 1992 awarded Physics Diploma
Since 1993 Promotion in science philosophy at Konstanz University with Prof. Paul Hoyningen-Huene, work titled “Creativity in the Research Process”
Since 1995 Received the German Folk Foundation scholarship
October 1995 Received scholarship for a four week English Intensive Course at Southampton Language Center
December 1998: Turned in a dissertation titled “Foundation of the New”
June 21st , 1999 Oral examination for Doctor title
